A wedding officiant is responsible for creating and conducting your ceremony, ensuring it’s legally binding, and personalizing it to reflect your love story. I guide you through the entire process of creating YOUR perfect ceremony, perform that ceremony to (hopefully) perfection, and then file the marriage license afterward -— ensuring your big day is both meaningful and official.

How far in advance should we book our wedding officiant?

Ideally, book your officiant 6-12 months before your wedding, especially for peak seasons like spring and fall. I recommend reaching out as soon as you set your date to secure your spot and allow time for us to craft a ceremony that’s uniquely yours.

Can you perform both religious and non-religious ceremonies?

Yes! I’m experienced in officiating religious, spiritual, secular, romantic, and even interfaith ceremonies. Whether you want specific prayers, readings, or a completely custom script, together we'll tailor your ceremony to match your philosophies, beliefs, values, and preferences.

How much does hiring a wedding officiant cost?

Do you help us write our vows?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! I offer guidance, suggestions, proofreading, and dozens of examples to help you craft heartfelt, personal vows. If you’d rather use traditional vows, or if you feel you need a nudge to get started, I’m here to make the process stress-free and authentic. And there are NO ADDITIONAL FEES for any of this -- writing is a passion of mine, and my fees are all-inclusive.

Will you attend the rehearsal?

Yes, I’m available for rehearsals upon request (additional fees do apply), assuming I have the date free. Attending ensures everyone knows their cues, and it lets us fine-tune the ceremony flow so your big day runs smoothly. BUT in my experience my presence is NOT always required; very often the venue provides a day-of coordinator to walk you through your rehearsal, making my presence superfluous -- meaning that you can save the money!

What happens if you can’t make it on our wedding day?

In the VERY VERY VERY rare case of an emergency, I have a network of trusted officiants who can step in. I’ll coordinate with them to ensure they’re fully briefed on your ceremony details -— there will be no additional stress for you. In 25 years, this situation has occurred precisely two times, so for me it's EXTREMELY rare.

Question 8

Do we need to provide anything for the ceremony?

Accepted Answer

Just your marriage license and any personal items, like your rings or any unity ceremony items you've acquired (e.g., candles, sand). I bring the script, my expertise, and a calm presence -— everything else is up to your vision!
